Hamilton Aguiar

Born 1965 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. In 1987 Hamilton Aguiar moved to the States to pursue his passion in art. With several years of studying art and working in art restoration, Hamilton began to explore various painting techniques.

The last six years has taken his current series of painting to a new level for Hamilton. Using oil over gold and silver leaf on wood panel and canvas, he has developed an artistic application that inspired him to combine different textures to create an incredable body of work. The illumination of light reflecting upon the surface allows the viewer to delve into the depth of the imagery.

The composition of his paintings is inspired by the natural surroundings of the Eastern landscapes, emphasizing winter with the monochromatic content.

Hamilton Aguiar is a self-taught gifted artist, and by absorbing his surroundings he creates his vision of uncontrollable beauty.

In his recent 2004 New York exhibit, Hamilton nearly sold out at his showing. The excitment and popularity of his paintings has caused him to be sought out by galleries and collectors from all over.
